Adobe has completed the purchase of Magento and now owns the prominent Commerce Cart. Magento’s management team will remain in place and report to Brad Rencher, EVP and General Manager of Adobe’s Experience Cloud. It remains to be seen what exactly is meant by this statement from Mr. Rencher, “Integrating commerce into Adobe Experience Cloud enables Adobe to make every moment personal and every experience shoppable. This is the future of e-commerce—experience-driven commerce.”
The sale appears to have closed more quickly than originally expected and we should soon begin to see some announcements about the future direction of the combined company. Having details rather than speculation will be interesting and should put to rest all the guesswork around the direction of Magento.
